Award Details:

Multiple scholarships are awarded annually
$5,000 total, disbursed in $2,500 increments per semester
Scholarship recipients are selected by committee review
Recipients are notified by June 30

Atrisco Land Grant Heirs Scholarship

Offered in partnership with the Garcia Family Charitable Foundation, the Atrisco Land Grant Heirs Scholarship supports students who are verified heirs of the Atrisco Land Grant and are pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies. This scholarship honors heritage while investing in the educational advancement of future generations.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must:

Be a verified heir to the Atrisco Land Grant
Be a U.S. citizen and current resident of the United States
Plan to enroll full-time (12+ credit hours) in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university
Have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

Application Requirements:

Applicants must submit:

A completed application form
Proof of heirship in the Atrisco Land Grant (genealogical verification completed during the application process)
A typed essay (1,000 words or less) describing a community problem you care deeply about. What is one realistic solution you would pursue, and how would you build support for it?
One (1) letter of recommendation
Most recent official school transcripts
A photo of the applicant
