About Our Instructors

Herb Crosby

Mr. Crosby is presently the President and CEO of Avtec, Inc., a Management Consulting and Training firm who has recently graduated from its Small Business Administration 8(a) certification.

Mr. Crosby completed his MBA at Pepperdine University School of Business and Management where he was also associate dean for a number of years. After a fellowship with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, Mr. Crosby joined the Arthur Young Company as a manager; responsible for managing several million-dollar government contracts in Washington, D.C. He served as Director of Finance for the Opportunities Industrialization Center in Ghana, West Africa. He also taught as a part-time professor at the University of Ghana. In addition to the West African experience, he also has expertise in international management and development

E. Celestina Garcia

Eileen Celestina Garcia’s vision is that everyone lives the life of their dreams filled with freedom, connection, and empowerment. These characteristics and values fuel Celestina’s passion and guide her life’s work. Her motto is ‘Dream and Be Big’

Erica Davis- Crump

Erica Davis- Crump is a seasoned trainer with focus on advocacy through positive development techniques, wellness, and awareness. For the past five years she has trained and presented in every county in New Mexico, to over 30,000 students and parents. She is a TED x alumni speaker, and is an involved member within the communities of New Mexico. She also specializes in suicide awareness and prevention, where she works to destigmatize the issues surrounding mental health. Erica hopes that with each training experience she provides, students and their families gain a deeper sense of connection to their invaluable self-worth that can enable a strengthened community. Erica, is very excited to be part of the Atrisco Heritage Foundation Youth Training, and looks forward to continue to support and engage with NM Youth on all levels.

Curtis Flakes Jr.

Curtis received his Bachelor of Arts degree (organizational communication) from the University of New Mexico and has been with the Children Youth & Families Department since August2016 serving as a training and development specialist at the Academy of ProfessionalDevelopment & Training. In this role Curtis provides training to all Field and Facilities staff.Aside from training at the Academy, Curtis also serves as a master trainer with USA Football, a comprehensive program developed in partnership with the National Football League to advance player safety in the game of football. Before Curtis started with CYFD, he managed PublicAllies NM for 5 years. With Public Allies Curtis ran one of the biggest AmeriCorps program here in the state. AmeriCorps members were provided comprehensive professional development and succession trainings to ensure reaching challenging operational goals for each member.
